Unqualified Opinions: a layman’s take on what’s on screen

Film is one of those things in life which I absolutely love, yet know close to absolutely nothing about. I spend half my free time, which I’m pretty rich in at the moment (thanks corona), watching films and television shows, getting lost on IMDB, trying to work out exactly where I recognise someone from. However when it comes to reviews and seeing who out there agrees with my thoughts and reflections on a film, I find myself struggling to actually understand any of them. Full of cinematography jargon and reference to directors and producers, I find it really difficult to actually grasp and access what such a qualified review actually concludes or means. Of course, this is a fault of my own not with the world of film, and I would love to know as much as these people, but the long and short of it is that I don’t. But, I still want to be able to relate to people’s views and discuss films somewhere. Someone other than my sister needs to bear the brunt of my strong opinions and questions after finishing a film or series. So, this is where I’ve decided to do that. To angrily attack my keyboard in a state of rage or complete adoration after viewing. The disclaimer is in the name already, but I would like to reiterate that I truly have nothing to qualify me to review films of any sort, other than an organic and very normal love for the art of watching.
